It is advisable to contact us 1 month in advance to plan your move without rush or setbacks. The more time we have, the better we can organize the entire process: the inspection visit, moving dates, delivery of packing boxes, obtaining permits to work on public roads, optional insurance, etc.
How can I pay for my move? Is a deposit required?
Payment can be made by bank transfer or by credit card authorization (VISA or MASTERCARD). Cash payment on the day of service is also possible. It is usually not necessary, but in exceptional cases and during peak season, we may request a deposit to guarantee the reservation of the team for the relocation.
What type of insurance is included in my moving quote?
The general transport insurance, according to the general conditions of our LOTT policy, and the Civil Liability insurance, necessary in case of an incident with a third party, whether at the home, the property where the move takes place, or on public roads. We can provide the corresponding certificate for each policy upon request when booking the move. All-risk insurance without deductible is optional and not included in the quote. We will inform you without obligation on how to purchase this specific policy for your relocation and your most valuable belongings.
How long does it take to complete a residential move?
For a local move, the usual time is one full day of work or two days if we handle the packing of contents and decor. If the move is national or European by land, the time will vary depending on the distance and the transportation needed to your destination. If your move is international by sea, it can take up to 1 and a half months for the entire process from start to finish. This is not the case with air shipments, which can reach their destination in 1 or 2 weeks, door to door.
Do I need to be present on moving day?
For local moves, it is not essential to be present all day, but you should be there when our team arrives and when the service concludes. For international moves, it is common for the owner to be traveling. In such cases, another trusted person can receive and assist us. We offer a key collection service where a Diagonal representative coordinates the move collection without your presence.
Can I purchase packing materials from you for my move?
For clients who do not wish to hire our moving service, we offer all types of packing materials for sale so you can handle your move yourself. Contact us, and we will inform you of the prices. For Diagonal clients, if you wish to pack contents (boxes) yourselves, you must request it during the inspection visit or at our office. Packing materials and their delivery to your home are always included in our moving quote.
Where can I store my belongings if I don't have my new home yet?
Our company has its own warehouse – storage facility, with 24-hour surveillance and insurance against theft and fire, to store our clients’ belongings temporarily or indefinitely.
Can I store office furniture in your storage facility?
Our warehouse is available temporarily and indefinitely for the storage and safekeeping of archives and documents, office furniture, and computer and work equipment.
Who uses the storage service?
These are some of the varied situations our clients often find themselves in when they need storage services: a national or international move (transit time or storage of belongings until they have a residence in the new city or country); waiting to receive the keys to a new home; total or partial renovation of their usual home; a long vacation period until the client returns to their usual home; relocation for work to a new city or country for a specific period; sale of a second home and the need to hand over keys to the new owner; eviction from a home due to inheritance and needing time to decide what to do with the deceased relative’s belongings… among many others.
How is the price of storage calculated?
The price of storage depends on the volume stored (m³) and is paid monthly. Our sales representative will advise you on your volume without obligation.
Do I have to pay taxes if my move is international?
Moves are considered transportation of used personal items and are therefore exempt from import taxes into Spain from a non-EU country, upon presentation of documentation along with the transported items. It is important for the moving company to provide correct information to the client to avoid setbacks and unnecessary expenses in the destination country.
How are documents packed and transported during an office move?
A member of the Diagonal team will be exclusively responsible for properly packing the company’s documents, inventorying them, and placing them in their new location in an organized manner, just as they were in their original place.
